The electronic Personal Development Plan (ePDP) is a process that enables students to understand, implement, and mark progress toward a degree and a career goal by creating and following a personalized plan that is revised and updated throughout the college experience. Overall, it is a pedagogical tool that helps students make meaning of the college experience.
Each section should be completed in a manner that, when read together, provides an integrated and coherent narrative about the students, their goals, and their accomplishments. Sections may be completed in any order (or not completed at all) so that the portfolio supports the goals of your course. You will provide prompts and instructions for completing each section. Suggested prompts and guidance for each section are available on this website to help you.
The prompts included in this section have been shared by faculty members and program directors using the ePDP to promote student learning. Please share your prompts with your colleagues by sending them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Encourage your students to be creative in personalizing their portfolios. The more students individualize their ePDPs, the greater ownership they have for the content as a reflection of their true selves.
