Evaluation of the ePDP is framed by considerations of both stated learning outcomes and the lived experience of faculty and students. In addition, traditional measures of student success, including grade point average and retention, are measured for students completing an ePDP in the first-year seminar and those who do not complete an ePDP.

Learning Outcomes for the ePDP
Self-Assessment: Students identify, explore, and apply strengths they already have, as well as other skills they need, to facilitate their success in college.
Exploration: Students explore and evaluate a major and career vision by utilizing an understanding of themselves as well as major and career research as the basis of informed and realistic decision making.
Evaluation: Students analyze their academic progress in terms of academic success strategies as well as progress toward academic and career goals.
Goal Setting: Students identify and plan for short- and long-term goals; students connect personal values and life purpose to the motivation and inspiration behind their goals.
Planning: Students identify and develop a plan for fulfilling requirements for their chosen programs of study as well as locate programs, information, people, and opportunities that will support and reality test their goals.
Each semester, the course evaluation for first-year seminar courses includes questions about the ePDP as a process for helping students gain a sense of purpose at IUPUI as well as to explore and to refine major and career goals. In addition, questions about the transition to college have been analyzed based on whether or not a student has completed an ePDP.
